Crème aims to be Des Moines’ first Asian-inspired bakery under new owner Sammy Mila. She was a culinary specialist/food stylist for 11 years, working with brands such as Better Homes and Gardens, Food & Wine, AllRecipes, EatingWell and more. Sammy grew up in a culture where desserts were always deemed “too sweet” and saw the need for lighter, fresher, and more flavorful desserts in the city.
Sammy took over ownership of Crème on June 1, 2022 and implemented all new recipes on August 3, 2022. The menu now features a wide variety of globally-inspired flavor options, and milk bread loaves/buns, mochi donuts, and churros are on the horizon. (As is the return of the dessert lounge in 2023!) Stay up-to-date on with us on Instagram at @creme_dsm for all of the updates about future events and menu additions.
